What is the first step to starting Theraphe?

If you are ready to schedule an appointment immediately, click ‘Schedule A Session’ to schedule either an individual intake appointment or a free consultation through the client portal.

NOTE: All new clients are required to complete intake forms through the client portal at least 24 hours prior to our first session. If you do not receive these documents once your appointment is confirmed, please check your spam/junk folder. Appointments without completed paperwork 24 hours in advance will be cancelled.

What can I expect at the first session?

First sessions are known as intake sessions. These sessions are casual, comfortable, and approximately 50 minutes long and cover the initial paperwork including covering informed consent, privacy, practice policies, and a verbal history of your goals, diagnoses, past treatment, family history, etc. At times, these administrative tasks may feel more clinical in nature but helps give me some important background pieces about who you are. The second half of the intake session is more fluid conversation identifying and setting goals so the therapeutic process can begin.

What days/hours are you open?

Mon-Thurs: 9am-5pm CST (TX)

Can I schedule online?

The Theraphe online portal is an easy way for you to schedule sessions at your convenience from the comfort of your home 24/7. Click ‘Schedule A Session’ to access the client portal.

What are your session rates?

$165 / hour (50 min) / INDIVIDUAL Session

$320 / 2 hour individual block (this is often used to enhance qualitative work during sessions while reducing frequency of appointments - only open to current clients) (110 min)

NOTE: Solution-Focused Brief Therapy is intended to be a brief therapuetic model. This is not a long-term model and therefore pricing reflects the brief nature of the therapuetic experience.

Do you take insurance?

I have chosen not to work with insurance companies at this time so that I can focus on providing thorough and confidential services for you that meets your needs without forced treatment plans/goals from the insurance companies.

In order to be paid through insurance, I am required to submit a mental health diagnosis to attest that you have a ‘disorder.’ And while at times identifying certain diagnoses may be beneficial to treatment planning, I do not believe that all clients are disordered and do not want to attach such to your health record.

Some insurances require that deductibles are met prior to insurance benefit dispersement. Often, deductibles are between $1000-2000 dollars and are unmet at the time I see you. This requires you to be billed out of pocket for counseling expenses until that deductible is met anyway.

Insurance companies provide a narrow list of approved clinicians, effectively disempowering your ability to choose whom to trust with your counseling needs. The therapeutic relationship is the #1 predictor of positive counseling outcomes and therefore your ability to choose your provider is a vital piece to ensuring that you reach your goals.

NOTE: Superbills can be provided at your request. These forms are completed by us and submitted by you to your insurance company for possible reimbusement of counseling services. Please check with your insurance company prior to beginning counseling to ensure coverage and to learn what reimbursement, if any, will be provided to you by insurance.

Where are you located?

In-Office appointments are available in a quiet, convenient location in the Sterling Ridge section of The Woodlands, TX. Nearby businesses/schools include the Bear Branch YMCA, George Mitchell Library, & The Woodlands H.S. 9th grade campus.

8350 Ashlane Way #103 The Woodlands, TX 77382
